Today we decided to get messy and finger paint.. Garrett loved playing with all the colors and getting his hands nice and messy!!!! My point was so that Garrett would learn his colors.. I am not sure if he learned colors or not, but I learned that we have a little artist in the house.. he did not want to stop painting.. here are some of my favorite pictures... I will be putting the rest on the family website.. enjoy!
They just make my day I tell you! Garrett and I spent the early morning coloring Mickey and Minnie Mouse... then once he heard Drew up.. he said "Baby Drew awake.. I go get him"... so I said "No I go get him".. and the race was on.. who could get to Drew's room quicker.. man those little legs were hustling up those stairs.. its funny cause he trys to go really fast.. its like double time and one leg is doing all the work going upstairs.. its cute.... anyway.. he beat me to Drew's room.. once we got there we both greeted Drew.. and we were greeted with a HUGE bubbly drooly smile.. man that kid has so much drool coming out of his mouth.. he is finally actually teething his two bottom teeth.. I love it when babies just have those two lil' teeth!
So the boys needed to get dressed for the day.. so I started with Garrett.. got him settled then I changed Drew.. they are both wearing shirts with collars and khaki pants.. Drew hasn't been able to fit into his yet.. so I was really happy to see that it fit him.. and I put him in the mirror and said "My wittle wittle baby is so cute!"... next thing I know Garrett is just standing in front of the mirror.. and he said "Mommy my turn"... SOOOOOOO CUTE... so of course I had to hug Garrett and say how cute he was too!!!!
Speaking of my wittle wittle.... he is not so wittle wittle anymore.. today is the first day of mobility.. it amazed me.. Drew is now army crawling... I was laying on the floor with the boys.. with my arm out and I was tapping my fingers.. and surprisingly.. he came to me... it was the cutest lil' crawl.. it was almost like a live slinky coming towards me on a flat surface.. can you picture that.. hahahaha.. anyway.. totally cute.. I got some video footage of it.. I will try to get some on my camera later so I can utube it and add it to this post.. man.. where does the time go.. its going way too fast this time around!!!!
So I say.. forget those people that say you can spoil your children by holding them too much.. cause I feel like I am not holding Drew enough... I wake up everyday thinking.. man I really need to take the time and focus on Drew.. and hold him.. its really hard with two... I feel like Garrett was lucky to have so much one on one time.. and Drew is getting none... it kinda makes me feel guilty in a way.. and I know.. that I do hold my child and I do play with him.. I am just saying that its totally different with your second vs. your first.. cause the first got all attention at all times.. and the second doesn't.. its crazy!
Anyway.. this has been my morning.. I wonder what the rest of the day will bring!
So Garrett, Drew and I went to Kiddie Kandids to get Halloween pictures done.. I made the appointment today at 11am hoping that Mark could help, but last night he told me that he will be working day shift.. I was really really nervous.. cause Garrett just does not go along with pictures unless Mark is there... anyway.. this morning.. I tried their costumes one.. and HE LOVED IT! Garrett was totally looking forward to the picture place so that he can put his costume back on.. so actually they turned out great.. here they are!
So Drew is playing on his lil' gym mat and Garrett is playing close to him with his magnet color board... Drew starts to roll... or wiggle his way over to Garrett.. as always.. interested in what he has.. so he starts to try and grab for Garrett's pen... normally... Garrett would respond with.. "NO BABY DREW.. NO TOUCH.. THATS MINE!", but today.. he said: "You wanna color Baby Drew?"... "You hold it like this ok"... Garrett is no longer a baby.. he is a big brother.. it was the cutest thing I have ever seen.. its amazing how one day he can break my heart and another melt it... I really wish I had a camera handy.. cause that would have been a really cute picture!
I was putting Garrett down for a nap.. and he fought me on it.. as usual... and I told him that he could take a nap.. or play with his toys, but he was going to be in his room for an hour... cause he needed a rest.. so as I was shutting the door.. I said.. "I love you" and he said:
"NO I NOT, NO I NOT LOVE YOU"
That was the 1st time he has ever said something like that.. broke my heart.. but I am sure it won't be the last.. oh man.. I thought it should be getting better he is 2 1/2, but people keep telling me.. its not the terrible 2s its the terrible 3s.. GREAT!
