Friendship
So the boys and I decided to ditch the chores the other day.. I put their cute Valentines shirts on.. took some pictures.. had a nice little picnic.. then they played until they dropped! literally I was at the park for 3hrs! It is so nice to see them play together and interact.. it has been happening more and more now that Drew can communicate.. it is amazing what a difference it has made in the way they play together... I am loving every minute of it!!!!!

Big Boy Swing
Drew got on a big boy swing for the first time this weekend!!! Instead of sledding in the snow like we should have been {I flooded the house!}... we went to a friends birthday party locally to get the kids out and running around.. this was right after Drew ate a big piece of chocolate muffin.. it was good.. as you can tell he is still licking his face.. yikes.. but these are the moments.... its not perfect.. but I love it!!!!

Jedi Training
Almost a month ago on Jan 8 , 2010 Garrett was lucky enough to FINALLY be chosen for the Jedi Training at Disneyland while Auntie Lizzy was visiting us!
Previously.. we have taken Garrett 2 other times to this show.. and he was right in the front with his hand up jumping up and down both times with major enthusiasm, but he was never chosen.. even though it was only twice that we tried.. Mark and I's hearts were broken for Garrett.. he was so sad.. he loves Star Wars.. he knows Star Wars.. he is a Jedi! Anyway.. you get it.. it was very sad, but Garrett was just too young!
Fast Forward.. Garrett gets out of bed.. asks "where are we going today Mom?" me "Disneyland".. he runs upstairs.. comes down quicker than I have ever seen this kid move in the morning.. saying "Ok I am ready lets go!".. he has on a Star Wars shirt.. so today will be no exception.. we will have to try again... hopefully we don't leave disappointed!!! We pull up into the parking lot a man hands us two buttons for the kids.. I was like um.. what is that.. take a closer look.. it says 1st trip to Disneyland.. I turn to Mark why are we getting these.. Mark laughs.. and points to the Minnesota plates.. {we drove the inlaws van so we could all fit with Elizabeth visiting}.. hey my kids don't have one.. and most likely wouldn't get one.. so thanks! Garrett wants to put his button on his hat.. so we go on a few rides.. then Garrett starts begging to go on the Star Wars ride and do the show.. so we do.. my belly is in knots.. cause I don't want him to be sad again.. but he stood there hands up.. jumping up and down.. the first round of kids were picked.. no Garrett.. some kid moves up next too him which happened every time before!!! Then the guy starts looking back around where Garrett was.. he says this little guy in the Star Wars shirt and the hat on.. WHAT!?!??!?!?!??! THATS MY KID!!!!!! Mark and I were ecstatic.. I totally wanted to cry.. and so did Mark {he said so.. shhhh}.. this was sooo important for Garrett and not only did he get picked.. but he got front and center stage.. and he got to be the very first Jedi to fight Darth Vader.. I will tell you there is nothing more exciting than this!!!! I had our little flip recorder going... and my camera at the same time.. and I jumbled it all.. but this is what I got from my camera, but my memory of it will be forever!!!! Not to mention the smile on Garrett's face for the rest of the day! After all he is a Jedi now.. thats something to be proud of!
Was it the button.. was it the shirt.. was it the hat.. something got him noticed this time that didn't the other times.. or maybe it was just meant to happen when his Auntie could watch him.. who knows.. I am just so glad he finally got the chance!!!!
